¡Escapémonos!
First of all, a HUGE thanks to:
Mrs. Bock for the team building activity that sparked the idea for this lesson!
Mr. and Mrs. Penshorn from The Escape Haus for working with us to be able to fit this trip within our budget and providing us with such a fun, productive activity!
Lesson Plan Outline (detailed)
Students researched their assigned literary works a created an organized STORYBOARD of their plan based on the following flow chart:
Then, each student created and edited their own informational video for their portion of the plan (background bio., themes, plot summary) before compiling their work in one single Augmented Reality "Experience" using the Aurasma app., combined with pre-existing visuals throughout the school for their "triggers."
Then, as a group, they prepared a worksheet to guide the viewer from clue to clue before finding the final "pista" that would be given to them by a designated NBHS teacher of their choice.
This teacher was provided pieces of a puzzle that, when put together, formed their entry ticket for the Escape Haus culmination activity!:

Student groups translated the clues for the rooms into Spanish for The Escape Haus, so the entire activity could be conducted in the target language. I'd post the clues here, but then, well, I'd have to...
